QUOTE(Trequartista @ Mar 31 2008, 14:40) *

He's again having a great season indeed, but I don't quite agree about him being the first keeper ever to be elected as the best Eredivisie player. Though no keeper ever became "Nederlands Voetballer van het Jaar", four goalkeepers won the "Nederlandse Gouden Schoen", which is (almost) the same prize Gomes might win this year.

http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nederlandse_Gouden_Schoen (Piet Schrijvers, Ed de Goey, Edwin van der Sar and Jerzy Dudek all won the Gouden Schoen)

Oops; basically I was wrong. I didn't check my facts before I wrote my post, I just assumed it. I feel ashamed, I'll give my job at patrick-kluivert.com to Trequartista and I'll apply to become editor at soccerside.nl

I was surprised Gomes suddenly came out with such hard comments. I don't know if they will be able to prevent him from leaving this summer.

O, and another thing. It was eventually Heitinga who became Dutch footballer of the year instead of Gomes rolleyes.gif

It seems Gomes is really on his way out now: he is currently in Brazil, not participating in the friendly games left. PSV has chosen the side of Reker, Gomes didn't take any of his words back: so a transfer looks inevitable. It is said his agent Vlado Lemic is mostly behind this all though.

AC Milan are moving for PSV Eindhoven's unsettled goalkeeper Heurelho da Silva Gomes.

The Brazilian has railed against PSV management in recent weeks and is ready to quit the Dutch giants, despite only signing a new contract earlier this season.

Tuttosport says Gomes is now Milan's top target to solve their keeper concerns, ahead of Celtic No1 Artur Boruc.

Other rumours have it that Gomes' agent is coming to terms with PSV again. So that Gomes might continue at PSV.

Well; I guess that's great news for Gomes himself; although I'd rather have seen him move to a better side outside bloody England... tongue.gif

PSV isn't any worse than Tottenham, so from a footballing perspective he doesn't improve; but he'll probably earn more money now and in Brazil they probably have more respect for the English league.

I'm sorry to say this guy's but he's absolutely terrible at the Spurs.
I see him getting kicked out during the winter transfers, unless a miracle happens.
So maybe PSV will try to get him back?

Well true, but things are now changing at Tottenham after the appointment of Harry Redknapp.Even though they lost today,he will still be there for at least a year.
