EINDHOVEN - PSV kan woensdagavond in de Champions Leaguewedstrijd tegen Arsenal geen beroep doen op verdedigers Manuel da Costa en Jan Kromkamp.

Da Costa heeft een zware keelontsteking en koorts. Kromkamp heeft te veel last van een hamstringblessure die hij afgelopen weekeinde opliep in de wedstrijd tegen RKC Waalwijk.

Door de blessures is de spelersgroep van de Eindhovenaren opnieuw flink uitgedund. Naast Da Costa en Kromkamp ontbreken ook Michael Reiziger en Patrick Kluivert. Eduardo Alcides is niet speelgerechtigd in de Champions League.

Om toch tot een selectie van achttien spelers te komen voegt trainer Ronald Koeman Dirk Marcellis en John de Jong toe aan zijn spelersgroep.

Arbiter

De return in de achtste finale van de Champions League in Londen staat onder leiding van Alain Hamer. De 41-jarige arbiter uit Luxemburg is al vanaf 1993 op het Europese podium actief. Hij floot nog nooit eerder een wedstrijd van de landskampioen uit Eindhoven.

PSV verdedigt in het dit seizoen geopende Emirates-stadion een voorsprong van 1-0. De Eindhovenaren kunnen zich bij de laatste acht van de Champions League scharen.

I hope he plays (if it's with help of a needle or not) I want him play AND score! Damn

Do you guys think he is pretending an injury.. because he has to from the staff or Koeman? Or the board? Gerard HELP!

You never know if he will play or not even if he is 100% fit ..
From now on, when I read something like " Kluivert won't play, because of injury " I will be like what a SURPRISE.

Definately no. He isn't that kind of player. If I don't play, I will be injured.

Why would they force him to pretend to be injured when they know Kluivert can go to the media at any second?
Question is if Kluivert would tell the media.

well guys i don't know where this back injury came ..but it came and we don't have nothing to do...what is important now is that PSV should pass Arsenal. Now that Barca is out

the first team into my attention is PSV. Playing in UCL is maybe the only chance for Paddy .. he has to play and score to make himself heard again.. if he doesn't do that i'm afraid that his career will be over shorlty...

so our main objective right now isn't Kluivert playing but PSV WINNING

and going through tot the next round... i don't care if Paddy doesn't play right now.. if he plays in the semi-final or final and he scores than it's perfect

let's hope for the best.. cheers
