Eduardo da Silva's transfer to Arsenal has been thrown into confusion after Dinamo Zagreb claimed they received £16.25million for the striker.

The Gunners confirmed the Croatia international had joined the club for an "undisclosed fee" on Monday as they made their first signing since Thierry Henry's £16.1million move to Barcelona.

But Dinamo president Mirko Barisic appears to have claimed Arsenal spent all of the Henry transfer money - and more - on the signing of da Silva.

He is quoted on the UEFA website as saying: "I think the transfer is worth 24million euros (£16.25million) from the money Arsenal got after selling Henry to Barcelona."

Yeah so everyone think about it... biggrin.gif

Haven't seen anything of him yet, but it will be incredibly hard to make the fans forget about Thierry Henry. I heard he is very fast though, and his goalscoring record is impressive. We'll see if he makes it. Don't know what to think of transfer money, even a striker like Bent costs as much money nowadays. Some prizes are crazy now, especially in England.

If I were Arsenal, I would definitely buy another striker too. Eduardo, Van Persie and Adebayor is simply not enough for the European top. I hope for Anelka to sign a contract soon.

I saw Da Silva play in the match against Estonia. He was one of the sharpest players on the field. He's got speed, technique and intelligence, but I don't think he is worth £16million.
