United Release Three

NEWCASTLE United have released Patrick Kluivert, Jamie McClen and Stephen Brennan.

The trio were all officially informed of their release on Saturday morning.

Kluivert joined United from Barcelona last summer and made 25 starts for The Magpies, and a further 12 as a substitute, netting 13 times.

McClen, who came through the ranks at St. James' Park, was given his full debut by Ruud Gullit in April 1999 against Tottenham at St. James' Park. Jamie went on to make a total of 10 starts for The Magpies, and 12 more from the bench, with his only goal coming in an FA Cup game at Peterborough United.

Brennan has been capped by the Republic of Ireland at four levels, and was a regular in their under-21 side. He never played for the first team at United, but was a regular in Tommy Craig's reserve side. Over the last 12 months Stephen was blighted by injury, and has been playing for Shelbourne over the last few months prior to his official release from St. James' Park.

Are you from Barcelona then?

Barca won´t take Kluivert back... I think. If Kluivert goes to Barcelona then it is going to be Espanyol.

Sorry to post it here, but I heard the interesting news that Michael Owen will probably move to Newcastle.
Poor lad. Quite harsh: leaving Liverpool for Real, in search for some trophies. You wake up one year later, to hear that your club for life, Liverpool, has won the Champions League and your ass is moving to bloody stinky Newcastle.
Man!

Don't tell me he didn't know Real Madrid is a commercial club. Did he really think he would replace Ronaldo or Raul? (althought he played quite good when he got the chance.) He was just bought as a new 'Galactico', so they never ment to give him a serious chance. Now he wants to go back to England and he finds out the topclubs there don't need him, and that's why he has to play for Newcastle now. If I were him, I would play for Newcastle for one season (if Souness chooses him above Ameobi of course dry.gif ), and then return to Liverpool. I think it's just his own fault to choose for Real, and now he has to prove himself again to the topclubs.

I totally agree with you!

It's official now: Owen to Newcastle. They have spent a lot of money this transfer period, but they still have a bad defence. Great management there...

I bet it's not gonna help them. He'll score goals of course, but they need a good defence and midfield as well. And a new coach.

They have a good midfield (Emre, Parker, Dyer, Jenas) and their defence is not all that good, but it's the Toon army, they don't care, as long as they score more goals than the opponent.

And work hard! But Newcastle supporters are currently doing actions trying to get rid of Souness & Shepherd, so perhaps they can escape the relegation football they are in now.

And I just read that Jenas is going to the Spurs, so he's no longer part of their midfield.

Hmm, this is beginning to look like a Newcastle board again wink.gif

Also a trade with Aston Villa now: Solano for Milner. I think Milner has a lot of talent, and could be useful for Newcastle this season. But now they have Solano again. I don't know if this was a good deal.

Nobby is probably one of the best liked players in Newcastle, so for the club it's a good deal, I think.

And Milner is on a season long loan, so he can go back, and gets time on the pitch.

Why suddenly is Newcastle able to sign good players?
Owen, Luque, Solano...
And I bet Souness is about to ruin another strikers life. It is Owen or Luque. Because Shearer is the one who is "unreplaceble" and Souness isn´t that smart to play with 3 strikers, so it is going to be Owen or Luque who is going to sit on the bench.

I think it might have to do something with $$$$$, but I'm not sure... Maybe they just trust Souness, and believe he will get Newcastle into the Champions League.

Newcastle only has two point out of five matches now, and they are currently on the 19th place. It doesn't look good for them.

Did they made a goal already? Or was it 2 times 0-0?

Actually I am not surprised they are doing that bad. They let their best player go in the summer. Kluivert, that is ofcourse.

Great news. Ameobi scored two goals against Sunderland!!! The match ended 3-2. Ambeobi is the best striker in the world clapping.gif clapping.gif !!! And Souness is the best manager ever!

I think soon Ameobi will be Engalnd´s regular. How can they waste such a talent. laugh.gif

I think Kluivert was a good signing for us but then we had to get rid to cut our wage bills and now we have Shearer retired, Owen crocked, Luque uninterested and Shola s.gif
