It seems like Mora is getting the chance to show what is he made of tongue.gif

Vicente flew to Holland too. Maybe there is a small chance that he will play? dry.gif

According to Marca.com, Kluivert will possibly be rested tomorrow. They guess this will be the team:

Mora
López, Caneira o Ayala, Marchena, Carboni
Rufete, Albiol, Edu, Fabio Aurelio
Mista y Villa.

Well now it might be time for Albiol and Mista to show how good they are at the moment!

It is not sure the final will be against Hamburg, though Hamburg are the favourites.

Look at valencia.es, and spot the CAPITALS, and the exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they are overreacting a little, over there in Spain.

Well Paddy didn't play, but in 6 days the first legg of the final is there, so hopefully we'll see a bit of him then.

Just back from roda-valencia. It was a pretty boring match with just a few chances for both clubs. If someone deserved to win it was Roda, but only because Valencia did even less. Only Villa managed to play good, didn't he GHoeberx?

Ah, GHoeberX went and didn't see Paddy play, again? You were also at the Cambuur match, right?

rolleyes.gif Not at all. Villa really bad. Especially in the first half he had 3 good opportunies to pass the ball to Mista, but everytime it just didn't work out! sad.gif
I think in the first half Mista did pretty good and in the second half no-one really stood out. They simply had a solid defense; but they didn't gave great passes. It was simply a uninspirational training game. wink.gif

I was planning to go to Buitenpost but I had a lot of reasons not to go. It would be quite hard to catch the last bus and I knew it would be awful rainy and that there is no where to hide in Buitenpost. Except for that I also knew Kluivert wouldn't play and that Aimar, Vicente and all other good players weren't in El Plantilla yet. That makes 4 good reasons not to go wink.gif

Delantero9
In someways I am happy that Kluivert didn´t play. Now his is quite fresh for the game against Hamburg. I am sure he will play against them. The first leg is in Valencia right? So I think he will be in the starting lineup and if Valencia gets a good result then he will be rested in the away game.
How did Mora play in his offical debut?

Why did you do this topic after all?
We already got a topic for the game smile.gif
GHoeberX
I merged the topic in here tongue.gif

And Mora didn't have to do a lot. There were some shots from Roda from difficult angles which actually rarely go in; so except for those easy saves he didn't have to do a lot.

I think perhaps not playing Kluivert at all; shows that Flores is actually very confident in him. He didn't start with Edu and other good players either, and basically he put in the players who still have to proof themselves I think. The fact that Valencia didn't create any opportunity also tells a lot: without Kluivert, Aimar, Edu, Vicente they have no people to create chances... I also hope that Figo comes, because Rufete wasn't good at all IMO.

Do you think Quique will try to play Aimar on the right wing?

Because if not, i don't want him to compete with Pat for a 2nd striker/offensive midfielder spot. cardY.gif
They must play together! yes5.gif

I've seen a few old games of Valencia, and Aimar and Vicente played very well together.

Valencia can play with 3 strikers too. And I don´t think Aimar will compete with Kluivert. He´ll fight for his place with Mista, Di Vaio or Villa. And Kluivert isn´t an offensive midfielder. He likes to play as a pure striker.
Trequartista
I hope Aimar will play behind Kluivert and Villa, but with the system Valencia is playing now, there doesn't seem to be any room for him, because there is no attacking midfielder. The trainer also didn't say a word about his plans with Aimar, so I think he might be sold. Is Liverpool still interested in him?

Please don't sell Aimar... mad.gif
Maybe they will play with Aimar behind the 2 strikers when they want a more offensive game, and with 2 more defensive midfielder (like at the moment with Albeda and Edu), against more attacking teams?

And there is also Ruben Baraja who when fit, is very likely to be in the first eleven.

But honestly, if they don't sign a new right winger, i'd rather have Aimar playing there than Rufete.

Rufete had an hat-trick the other night, showed nice finishing, but i don't see him create a lot of opportunities for the strikers...
Unlike Vicente.

what do you think of these formations

-------------------------Defense--------------------------------

------------------------Baraja------------Edu

--------Aimar(in a free role)---------------------Vicente

------------------Di Vaio(Villa)----------Kluivert

or why not

-------------------------Defense--------------------------------
----------------------Baraja-------------Edu

--------------------------------Aimar

--------Di Vaio(Villa)------Kluivert----------Vicente

Aimar can not be sold!
In my opinion he is the third best for Valencia.

I like the second formation. Aimar best position is behind the strikers, and Kluivert is used to play in 4-3-3. But I can't see Valencia playing like this.

I think Aimar is a better choice than Rufete, but he is not a real winger. That's why I thought Aimar could leave Valencia, but I hope he will stay, because he is one of the best players of Valencia.
GHoeberX
I think perhaps the weakest link are Di Vaio/Villa so why not play with a creative attack who can keep the ball possession better:

--------------Baraja
---------------Edu
Aimar Kluivert Mista Vicente

Based on last game vs Roda JC; Rufete played more like an inner midfielder than a right-winger; so that place will be great for Aimar.

It's good to hear that right-midfielder also is a good position for Aimar, but I thought Quique said he didn't want to buy a new right winger anymore, because he already had Angulo and Rufete. So he doesn't seem to have a lot of confidence in Aimar...
Jinho
I prefer Villa in steed of Di Vaio. With Villa Valencia playes much better that with Di Vaio.

I saw it in Gent, it is the only game i have seen of Valencia because i went on vacantion.

But I think they need a very pacy striker for more mobility and Di Vaio and Villa are fast, Mista not really.

I can see Kluivert have a good partnership with Di Vaio, he(DV) just need to improve his
finishing. I don't think Mista should be more than 3rd/4th choice striker.
